Brooklyn based novelist Kaitlyn Greenidge is best known for her debut novel We Love You, Charlie Freeman.

Released in 2016, it's still getting great reviews from both critics and readers, marking Greenidge out as one of the voices of the future. It follows the story of a black family who moves to an almost all white town to take part in an experiment to teach language to a chimp, Charlie, who will live with them, and the story tackles themes of race, history, family and language. Greenidge, who has written for publications including The Believer, the Feminist Wire, At Length and Fortnight Journal, was described by Buzzfeed as 'a literary force to reckon with'.
